Glebe House is a stylish four-bedroom self-catering country house tucked away on a peaceful lane near Salisbury in the Wiltshire countryside. Light-filled and spacious, it’s perfect for family gatherings, with a large open-plan kitchen, generous living spaces and two ensuite bedrooms. Walk straight into beautiful countryside, visit charming pubs, and explore Salisbury, Stonehenge, Longleat, the New Forest and the Dorset coast, all within easy reach.

Nestled on a quiet no-through lane in the pretty village of Barford St Martin, Glebe House is a welcoming countryside home that’s perfect for bringing family and friends together. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion, exploring Wiltshire or simply slowing down for a few days, we hope you’ll feel at home from the moment you arrive. With four bedrooms and flexible sleeping arrangements, the house works particularly well for two families holidaying together, multi-generational family stays or a relaxed weekend with friends.

The heart of the house is the spacious open-plan kitchen and dining room, where everyone naturally gathers while meals are prepared and stories are shared. Pull up a stool at the breakfast bar with your morning coffee, or keep the cook company while dinner is underway. A De’Longhi coffee machine is provided for leisurely starts to the day.

After a day exploring, sink into one of the three large sofas in the sitting room, light the wood burner and enjoy a board game, a good book or an evening chatting together. We’ll provide a starter basket of logs and kindling to help you settle in.

Outside, the enclosed south-facing garden enjoys sunshine throughout the day, making it a lovely place to relax with a morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. There’s a swing seat to enjoy, plenty of space for children to play and it’s ideal for well-behaved dogs too.

One of our favourite things about Glebe House is the location. Walk out of the back gate and you’ll find yourself surrounded by some of Wiltshire’s most beautiful countryside. Grovely Woods, with its magnificent beech avenues, is just a short stroll away and offers wonderful walking throughout the seasons. The quiet country lanes are equally popular with cyclists, and you’re welcome to store bikes in the garage during your stay.

Glebe House also makes a lovely base for guests attending weddings in the surrounding Wiltshire countryside. We regularly welcome brides, families and groups of friends who want to stay together before and after the celebrations.

The house comfortably sleeps eight guests across four bedrooms, with space for up to ten using two additional guest beds by prior arrangement:

• A king bedroom with an ensuite bathroom.
• A super king or twin bedroom with an ensuite bathroom.
• A double bedroom.
• A second super king or twin bedroom.

The two flexible bedrooms can each be arranged as a super king or two full-size single beds. We will email you around ten days before arrival to ask how you would like them set up.

Two additional pocket-sprung guest beds are available by prior arrangement at £20 per bed per night. These are slightly shorter and narrower than full-size single beds, making them ideal for children and suitable for smaller adults.

Before you arrive we’ll send you all the information you need, and once you’re here you’ll find a comprehensive welcome guide packed with our favourite local recommendations, house information, suggested walks and ideas for days out. Within five minutes you’ll find a traditional butcher, bakery and village shop, while Salisbury, Wilton House, Longleat Safari Park and Stonehenge are all within easy reach. The New Forest and Dorset’s beautiful coastline also make fantastic day trips.

Well-behaved dogs are very welcome (£25 per pet per stay), and with so many wonderful walks straight from the doorstep, we think they’ll enjoy their holiday just as much as you will.

As Glebe House is part of a friendly village with neighbouring homes close by, we kindly ask guests to respect our neighbours by observing quiet hours from 10pm onwards. Please switch off all music, both indoors and outdoors, and keep outdoor conversation to a minimum, as sound travels surprisingly well on peaceful village evenings. Glebe House is the perfect place for relaxed family holidays and memorable get-togethers, but it isn’t suitable for parties.
