Glebe House

In the Wiltshire countryside, but wonderfully connected

Glebe House is in the village of Barford St Martin, surrounded by the beautiful Wiltshire countryside and the rolling landscape of the Chalke Valley.

It feels wonderfully rural, with walks and woodland on the doorstep, yet Salisbury and Wilton are just a short drive away and some of the South of England’s best-known places are within easy reach.

Arriving by car

Glebe House is easiest to reach by car and makes a great base for exploring Wiltshire, Dorset and the New Forest.

There is parking directly opposite the house, so once you arrive it’s easy to unload and settle in. Full directions, parking information and everything you need for arrival will be sent to you before your stay.

Coming by train

Salisbury railway station is the nearest main station, with direct services from London Waterloo and connections to destinations across the South and South West. From the station, Glebe House is a short taxi journey into the countryside.

Once you’re here

Glebe House is wonderfully rural, and having a car will help you make the most of everything the area has to offer — from favourite country pubs and cafés to historic houses, family days out and the surrounding villages. There is a small shop at the village petrol station for essentials, but we recommend having your own transport during your stay.

That said, you don’t always need to go anywhere. Step through the back gate and you’re straight into the countryside, with footpaths leading towards Grovely Woods and miles of Wiltshire landscape to explore. The village pub is within walking distance too, so if all you want is a weekend of good food, country walks and time together at the house, you can quite happily park the car and leave it there.
